About the Project

Singapore Sports Hub is a state-of-the-art integrated sports and entertainment complex, which serves as a vibrant hub for sports, recreation, and entertainment and hosting a wide range of both local and international events. The world-class destination spans a vast area, comprising nine dedicated facilities, each catering to different sporting and entertainment needs. It includes the centerpiece National Stadium with a seating capacity of 55,000 that feature a retractable roof and movable tiered seating. The Indoor Stadium is another premier entertainment venue known for hosting major concerts and sporting events. Other facilities include the OCBC Arena, Water Sports Centre, Sports information and resource centre, Kallang Wave Mall, Water Sports Centre, Supporting and Ancillary facilities, and Community facilities.

Singapore Sports Hub received several awards and recognition including Green Mark Gold Plus Award and Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters Certification. AIS is proud to be part of the project during the development stage and the recent transaction.

Outcome & Achievement

Asia Infrastructure Solutions (“AIS”) was engaged by SportSG to undertake a comprehensive condition audit of the entire Sports Hub complex, supporting on the transition to a new entity. The objective of the engagement was to determine the health status and maintenance regime of the built infrastructure, associated supporting and critical infrastructural systems, equipment and services.

Building on our ongoing engagement as Independent Tester during the construction stage, we gained a unique understanding of the current operational challenges, which contributed to the successful completion of the project within a tight timeline.

The challenges faced during the audit were varied and complex, given the sheer size and complexity of the facilities including various sophisticated bespoke systems and equipment. The challenges not only required a high level of expertise and specialised knowledge to overcome but also adopting a collaborative approach to manage the numerous stakeholders, vendors, and a multi-disciplinary team.

The success of this project was achieved through the implementation of a proactive and collaborative working environment that fostered teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

Collaborative Teamwork

  • Careful planning, coordination and allocation of resources ensured a well-structured schedule and the efficient use of resources of a large team, leading to optimised project schedule, improved productivity and successful project outcomes while maintaining workplace health and safety standards.

Innovation

  • To enhance efficiency, cutting-edge technology such as OpenSpace was utilised to seamlessly capture, manage and analyse data in a more efficient and accurate manner, enabling us to deliver high-quality results in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  •  In addition to the pre-agreed methodology of verifying the system performance, thermal camera-equipped UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) was deployed to monitor the surface temperature profile of the stadium seating areas as a value-added service.

The use of cutting-edge tools demonstrates our dedication to staying at the forefront of the industry and continuously improving the value we provide to our clients.
