ESG Isn’t a Statement. It’s How We Rethink, Adapt and Operate.

ESG is often discussed at a strategic level, but its real impact is shaped by what we do every day. At Asia Infrastructure Solutions (AIS), it is no longer a “good-to-have”. It is embedded into our daily activities, how decisions are made, how projects are delivered, and how teams operate across the business.

Plantation Village, Tengah is an example where sustainability is embedded from planning through to delivery, supporting long-term resilience in Singapore’s first smart town.

As Ternasser Chwee, Senior Director and Head of Sustainability & Business Advisory at AIS Singapore, shares:

“Sustainability is not an add-on; it is a core organisational value that shapes how we deliver a resilient and future-ready built environment. Anchored in stewardship, this value is embedded across operations and project delivery — integrating future risks into planning from design advisory, procurement through to execution, ensuring long-term asset resilience. Ultimately, it is the accumulation of small, consistent actions across teams that drives meaningful impact.”

From an environmental perspective, our approach is anthropocentric driven recognising the need to operate within the limitations of the biophysical environment. AIS is a participant of the LowCarbonSG programme and is committed to monitoring and reducing carbon emissions across its operations. This includes tracking carbon footprints, improving resource efficiency, and supporting clients in making more sustainable project decisions.

On the project delivery front, ESG translates into practical decisions, optimising material use while minimising waste, balancing cost and carbon, and incorporating lifecycle thinking into our professional services. These are not theoretical ideals, but operational disciplines applied consistently across projects to deliver long-term value.

From a social perspective, this extends to how teams work with people, ensuring safe site practices, responsible stakeholder engagement, and inclusive collaboration. While CSR initiatives amplify this impact within the community, ESG within operations focuses on how responsibly core services are delivered.

From a government standpoint, robust processes, clear accountability, and professional integrity underpin all that we do – driving measurable outcomes. Well-defined decision-making frameworks and adherence to standards ensure consistency and transparency in our delivery.

Ultimately, ESG at AIS is about thinking ahead, rethinking conventional approaches and translating intent into practical, measurable actions – not making abstract commitments. Real impact is not defined by what we say ESG is, but by how consistently and effectively we put it into practice.
