Project Description
Client Needs
- To provide adequate revetment protection and ground treatment engineering designs for land reclamation along the shorelines of Pulau Indah, Klang.
- The engineering designs must comply with both the settlement and stability requirements of the project.
Outcomes & Benefits
In addition to producing a well-engineered ground treatment design, AIS optimised the usage of sand by constructing the reclaimed platform in stages and by reusing the surplus sand from surcharge materials after each consolidation process has been completed. This approach reduced the overall imported sand volume by approximately 10%. This method not only helped to save time for transportation, but it also reduced the overall construction cost. The construction programme was also further improved by optimising the construction sequence to suit changes in the construction programme.
