About the Project
The new National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) building features a 24-storey facility with a total floor space of 92,000 square metres, about five times larger than its old premises. It has expanded capacity dedicated to cancer care, rehabilitation, research, and education, meeting the growing needs of patients and the community.
Our Role
Asia Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) provided cost management services, such as budget management, contract and procurement strategy planning, and value engineering, throughout the project phases.
Challenges & Solutions
Located along Outram Road and the new Hospital Boulevard, the project faced challenges in site access, material inventory, and equipment positioning. This iconic development also features a $100 million proton therapy facility, thus requiring stringent budget control.
AIS adopted the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) approach for the Main Tender, in which contractors were engaged early during the design phase to facilitate the integration of the design and construction process. This helped to save time and cost.
Through expert cost management and value engineering workshops, AIS also ensured that the designs met budget expectations.
The NCCS project allowed us to demonstrate our ability to provide value engineering and showcase our expertise beyond cost management services.
