About the Project

Midtown Modern is a high-end residential development with 558 units across two 30-storey towers and a selection of cafes and retail shops on the first level. The development sits right above Bugis MRT interchange served by both the Downtown Line and the East-West Line and is close to several highways. Midtown Modern comes with a wide range of facilities as well as gardens within the development, and residents will enjoy the many amenities in the area including shopping malls and a wide range of food establishments. Located in the heart of Bugis, Midtown Modern is integrated as part of GuocoLand’s larger Guoco Midtown mixed-use development.

Key Challenges

The development adopts the use of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) for the units, and this is a key aspect of the development considering the location of the site, site area, and the constraints faced by the stakeholders in managing the site. As the site is located above Bugis MRT interchange, careful consideration would have to be taken when constructing the underground pedestrian network.

Best Practices

With our extensive cost knowledge on Residential projects and through our experience working with the Developer on a similar residential project, we were able to provide the Client with the necessary expertise on cost and contract management and through close collaboration with all key stakeholders, we were able to deliver the key milestones of the project.
