Er. Poh Seng Tiok

Managing Director, New Markets

Er. Poh Seng Tiok (ST Poh) brings over 26 years of extensive experience in large-scale mass transit and railway design and construction projects across Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and other Asian regions. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in guiding in-country transportation teams through various project stages, from inception to completion.

Seng Tiok is an established leader in the Rail and Transit industry in Asia, having assumed key senior positions in both major client and international consultancy organisations. His extensive career began at the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA), where he dedicated 11 years to major Mass Rapid Transit Projects in Singapore. Prior to joining AIS, he was AECOM’s Head of Rail and Transit in Asia and managed operations in Southeast Asia. Additionally, prior AECOM, he was the Planning and Design Director at Malaysia’s Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRTC) and was a senior business leader at Singapore Arup’s infrastructure group, leading some of their major railway projects in Singapore and the region.

Seng Tiok is equipped with a Master of Science (MSc) in International Construction Management and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. His professional affiliations are extensive and impressive: he is a Professional Civil Engineer in Singapore, a Fellow member at the Institute of Civil Engineers (FICE), an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), a Member of the Singapore Institution of Engineers (MIESand an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (AClarb). These qualifications and memberships highlight his deep commitment to and expertise in the field of civil engineering and infrastructure development.

Accreditation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) Level 2 Capability Certification Scheme Dec 2018.  MRTC is the first Infrastructure Developer in Asia to achieve full compliance with international standards PAS91:2013, PAS1192-2:2013, PAS1192-3:2014, PAS1192-5:2015, BS8536-1:2015, BS8536-22016 and all published sections of BS1192.
  3. ESRI Malaysia Geo-Innovation Award 2018. An award that recognises both public and commercial organisations for their innovative use of geospatial technology in addressing real-world challenges in industries and communities.
