Ir. Nor Azniza Ishak


Azniza’s engineering journey began 25 years ago as an alignment engineer for highway and railway design. Since then, she has played a pivotal role in designing and implementing several major infrastructure projects in Malaysia, her contributions leading to improved efficiency and innovative solutions. This invaluable experience, coupled with her proven leadership skills honed through various project roles, now positions her as a leading force in the Civil Department.

Her first attachment to the railway was the Kuantan-Kertih Project followed by the Ipoh-Rawang and Seremban-Gemas Railway projects. Her passion for roads and highways continued with her involvement in Malaysia’s major projects for various clients and job scopes, such as East-West Highway, North-South Expressway, Penang Outer Ring Road, KL Sentral Internal Roads, Cyberjaya Road Network, Penang Second Bridge Crossing, Pan Borneo Sabah Highway; and numerous interchanges, highway widening and road rehabilitation projects.  Her international experiences include the National Trade Corridor Highway of Pakistan and the Laguna Expressway in the Philippines.

At the helm of the Civil Department, Azniza spearheads the development of crucial road and highway projects, including the currently ongoing CSR highway. Her leadership and dedication were instrumental in its successful implementation, a testament to her resilience and expertise.

Azniza is a registered Professional Engineer, holding a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Technology Malaysia.
